Decorated in a traditional style, Yewthwaite retains many original features including a beautiful victorian fireplace, with a working open fire in the living room that you are welcome to use after a day in the great Cumbrian countryside.

The large living room combines lounge and dining, where you can snuggle into the comfy sofa whilst warming your toes by the open fire. Smart TV and ultrafast fibre broadband available.

In the large master bedroom you will find a king-size bed where you can enjoy a morning brew open the curtains and soak up the view, just off this room is a small room with bunk beds, making it perfect for families. There is another comfortable bedroom with two single beds.

The newly refurbished family bathroom has a bath and a free standing shower. Perfect for a post-walk soak! There is an additional downstairs WC.

There is a well equipped kitchen, and dining areas inside and out.

House was spotless and well equipped, lovely hamper on arrival. Nice garden and enclosed to keep the dog and neighbouring sheep safe! A great location with fantastic views. Lovely walks from the doorstep and good access to other areas of the Lake District.

We have had a fabulous stay at Yewthwaite. The house is located in a stunning quiet valley with outstanding views. Internally it has a lovely character, is nicely decorated, well appointed and spotlessly clean. It was lovely to sit and watch the weather changing and to see the snow on the hills. Sarah is a fantastic and friendly host, she looked after us very well throughout our stay.

This is a truly spectacular cottage, surrounded by snowflakes in February, and the view is epic. Everything was in place for our walking holiday and after coming back down from the hills we had a roaring log fire and watched the Olympic skating for the full winter effect! From the master bedroom window we watched the light on the mountains and listened to the river. Truly a one off, thanks so much for a perfect time.

A wonderful location for walking straight out and exploring the fells around Newlands Valley. The house was very comfortable, our golden retriever settled in easily and enjoyed the enclosed garden, despite finding a hedgehog! The views from the bedroom are incredible. The nearby Swinside Inn was a great eating place. Thoroughly recommended.

We had a fantastic stay with our 3 girls (and dog). Such a lovely clean house with everything you need for a great stay and so much to do nearby. We did walks, climbed a mountain, went canoeing and horse riding, went to the zoo, swam in the lakes, went to Beatrix Potter’s house….our kids loved it and so did we!

Scenic, secluded location but near enough to cycle to local amenities and attractions. Sarah was very prompt at responding to our queries. Check in and out was super easy. Would definitely recommend this place to others.
